Leaside has worked with Poplar HARCA as the client consultant to submit an application for the demolition of Tweed House located next to the A12. The proposed development to replace Tweed House is a 13 story building and 115 new homes. The ongoing development in the area has improved the North Teviot Estate and transformed the canal as a place for recreation. The application is going before London Borough of Tower Hamlets committee March 2011.

Aberfeldy Estate

Leaside has been commission by Poplar HARCA to coordinate the planning submission that seeks the demolition of 298 existing residential units and the development of a residential mixed use scheme comprising 1153 new homes in 14 new buildings between 2 and 25 storeys in height, together with new shops, community facilities and an improved landscaped public realm. Planning permission for this scheme to be determined by mid 2011.

Island Gardens Estate

Leaside has been appointed by the client to submit a planning application for the comprehensive regeneration of the Island Gardens Estate on the Isle of Dogs in Tower Hamlets, London. The submission seeks the erection of 88 new residential units containing studios, 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms, community facility, retail unit and high quality landscaped public realm with provision for children’s play. Planning permission for this scheme is expected summer 2011. .

The View Tube

The View Tube is a social enterprise and community venue located on the Greenway adjacent to the Olympic Park and offers a good view of it. The View Tube is a partnership project between Leaside Regeneration, London Thames Gateway Development Corporation, the Olympic Delivery Authority and Thames Water.

Bromley by Bow Centre

Leaside was asked by the client Bromley by Bow to manage a team of consultants to increase the charity’s capacity in line with its vision and the need of the community. The consultation strategy began in 2009 with a series of initial interviews and questionnaires to ascertain the requirements to fulfill the charity’s aims. April 2010 the application for £75,000 was approved to develop a new community building on the former church hall site. September 2010 planning permission was also granted for a new building to provide 850 sp m of new contemporary community space for art workshops, teaching and a dedicated IT suite.

Brownfield Estate

Leaside Regeneration has worked with Poplar HARCA for five years to regenerate the Brownfield Estate mainly by providing planning expertise. Public consultation of the estate was led by Leaside Regeneration as well as coordination with English Heritage and the GLA. Phase 1 has been completed; planning permission was obtained for a 20 storey building together with a mix of affordable housing in March 2010.

Container Futures

Leaside Regeneration has turned a derelict site into an innovative business centre. Container Futures was created from recycled shipping containers and offers affordable business accommodation over three floors. Container Futures was made possible thanks to partners like the London Development Agency and funding from the European Regional Development Fund.

Old Poplar Library

The restoration of Old Poplar Library is one of the first symbols of the success of Leaside Regeneration, bringing opportunities to the local area. The Library forms part of the Leaside Business Centre providing affordable workspace to small businesses and represents the first phase of the regeneration of Poplar Riverside.

Bromley Hall

Leaside Regeneration with partners worked to restore this long forgotten jewel. The Grade II* listed Tudor Manor House dates back to 1490 and is believed to have been frequented by King Henry VIII.
Bromley Hall now forms part of the Leaside Business Centre offering affordable managed workspace for small businesses.

Holland Estate

EastendHomes and Telford Homes Plc retained Leaside Regeneration to submit the planning application for the Holland Estate, Spitalfields, London E1. The proposals include the comprehensive redevelopment of the estate involving part refurbishment and part new build including a new community centre and retail units. The scheme was granted permission April 2009.
